Group Backs Smyth for Assembly

Cameron Smyth News

As election day draws closer, a nonprofit, small-business advocacy group is backing a local candidate.

On Monday, NFIB/California’s Save America’s Free Enterprise Trust lent its official support to Santa Clarita City Councilman Cameron Smyth, who is running for the 38th Assembly District seat being vacated by Keith Richman, who is running for state treasurer.

“Small businesses are not smaller versions of big businesses; they have distinctly different difficulties in remaining solvent, and Cameron Smyth has a fundamental appreciation of that very fact for the state’s economy,” Michael Shaw, assistant state director for NFIB/ California, said in a statement.
