Campaign to report approximately $60,000 in contributions
Santa Clarita –Just two months after announcing his candidacy for Santa Clarita City Council, former State Assemblyman Cameron Smyth will report raising approximately $60,000 towards his election effort. The semi-annual reporting period for candidates closes June 30.
“The outpouring of support I have received since announcing my desire to return to the City Council has been greater than we hoped”, Smyth said. “Along with the fundraising success, we are building a coalition of friends, volunteers, community activists and business leaders from all corners of the City that will make this campaign a success”.
“One of the impacts of consolidating the City election with the General election, particularly during a Presidential year, is the increase in cost associated with reaching all the new voters and I could not be more pleased with the response the campaign has received from all areas of the City” Smyth continued.
